Gay Outdoor Club: Welcome

The Gay Outdoor Club operates throughout the UK and provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports and recreational activities for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender men and women. These activities include walking, cycling, swimming, badminton, rock climbing, canoeing, caving, mountaineering, and skiing. GOC has over 1500 members and offers up to one hundred meets per month, in this country and overseas.

Walking, Cycling Swimming and Badminton are organised by our Local Groups. With more than 30 across the UK, there is likely to be one near you. Walking is the most popular club activity, and walks are typically 7 to 10 miles in length. Sundays are the most common days for walking, although some groups organise walks on Saturdays or on mid-week evenings during the summer months.

We are also into Canoeing, Caving, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, and Skiing. Find out more on Our Activities page.

Our Local Groups have prepared most of their plans for 2008, and these may be found within this website. There are over 350 walking events listed, and 8 swims per week available (which means that there are more than 400 opportunities for swimming throughout the year).

How about skiing in Switzerland in January? We have a group going there...

We are delighted to announce that we have received a grant from Awards for All which will enable us to redesign our website. This will provide a number of benefits, including a searchable events database. For more details....
